The Lync client for the Windows 8 UI (formerly known as Metro) doesn’t seem to use DNS SRV records for the Exchange autodiscover.

A trace of the DNS querys at login only shows a lookup for autodiscover..

_autodiscover_.tcp. doesn’t seem to be queried even after a long waiting period.

For those who are using autodiscover SRV records (as my company) to publish Exchange autodiscover waiting for a patch seems to be the only option.

It’s not a bug, it’s a feature. The discovery method used has changed. An NextHop article describes the change quite well.

Push Notifications aren’t working right now? The Test-CsMcxPushNotification Commandlet throws an error 504?

Push Notification Service is down until Monday Oct 8 2012 due to service upgrades and maintenance
